Timing Is Everything: Fire Suppression System

There are many types of tools that owners can place in their buildings to help mitigate the chances of a fire in their property. Some of those types of tools or pieces of equipment could include a smoke detector, fire extinguisher, heat sensor, etc.

However, rather than just putting together various pieces of equipment to comprise a system designed to protect one's assets, why not install a fire suppression system? Therefore, if considering a fire suppression system, it is important to know what a fire compression system is, additional components to a fire suppression system and the benefits associated with having such a system in place.

What Is A Fire Compression System?

A fire compression system is a sophisticated combination of emergency responding devices that helps to reduce the fire risk for building owners. This is in turn will aid in the safety of the occupants of that building as well as help to reduce the loss of property.

Specifically, in the event of a fire a fully functional fire compression system will alert the occupants of the building to an existing danger. This in theory will give the occupants of the building time to vacate the premises before the emergency escalates to a point where the individuals become trapped.

In addition, a fire suppression system may be designed so as to alert emergency personnel to respond simultaneously when the emergency alert has been activated. This will save precious time and in turn reduce the potential risk to the occupants as well as to the building.

Also, a major component of this first alert alarm system is a sprinkler system. When a certain level of heat is detected, a heat sensor then triggers the activation of the sprinkler system.

Other Components That Make Up A Fire Suppression System

There can be many components that make up a fire suppression system. Some of those components include strobe lighting devices that alert individuals to a potential emergency. These strobe lighting devices are extremely helpful for those individuals who may be hearing impaired.

Other devices that may be part of a fire suppression system include high pitched or loud alarms that alert individuals to the danger and emergency lighting devices that are programmed to activate. These lighting devices illuminate exits. Emergency lighting components are especially helpful if there is a loss of power to the building.

Benefits

There are many benefits associated with the installation and function of a fire suppression system. First and foremost is the benefit of possibly saving lives. This is accomplished because this early warning system and automated features will alert the occupants as to the danger and begin responding to the fire before emergency personnel arrive.

In addition, another benefit is that damage to the building and its contents may be minimized because of the early response features built into this system.

Also, because of these mitigation steps taken by the owner there may be a financial benefit. This is due to the fact that insurance premiums for comprehensive insurance may be reduced.
